Flavor Profile
Tennesee's Arrington Vineyards has been redefining American winemaking since 2007, and Antiquity is proof of that bold spirit. The original Tennessee whiskey-barrel aged wine, this small-batch red blends three estate-grown, local grapes: Chambourcin, Noiret and the innovative “Enchantment” grape (cultivated in West Tennessee). It’s then aged in Tennessee whiskey barrels for a full year. The result? A smooth, complex and one-of-a-kind wine with a nod to both tradition and forward thinking.
This limited release exists thanks to Country Music Hall of Famer Kix Brooks (of Brooks & Dunn) and co-founder Kip Summers, who set out to create a true “wine country” experience in the heart of Tennessee. Their vineyard, nestled in the rolling hills near Nashville, has become one of the South’s most beloved wine destinations—where world-class winemaking meets the spirit of Music City. Arrington Vineyards has won hundreds of gold medals and boasts devoted fans in more than 38 states.
The man behind the bottle is winemaker Chase Vienneau, a Tennessee native who has spent over 22 years honing his craft. Since joining Arrington in 2008, he’s been instrumental in shaping the winery’s reputation, earning over 50 gold medals in international competitions.
Antiquity is a rich, medium-bodied red with a dark ruby color and enticing aromas of cherry, blackberry, pipe tobacco and Tennessee whiskey. On the palate, expect dark-fruit flavors framed by notes of clove and star anise, all wrapped in a velvety texture with a warming whiskey accent on the finish.
While many “bourbon barrel-aged” red wines have gained popularity, Antiquity stands apart. Arrington Vineyards was one of the first modern American wineries to age a dry red wine in used whiskey barrels. They focus on the unique local character of Tennessee whiskey and use fresh, just-emptied barrels for aging this wine.
A perfect match for BBQ, smoked meats, steaks and dark chocolate, this is a bold Southern original worth raising a glass to.
